Yup, it's definite - Fox has just confirmed yesterday's' "Broadcasting & Cable" scoop.
Wanda Sykes is gonna do a late night Saturday show for Fox. The unknown here - what happens to "Talk Show with Spike Feresten," which went to an hour last fall, and appeared to be growing. Is it now...going? Or...is there room for both shows? That's always a possibility too...

- It'll premiere this fall and bring "topical" commentary, etc. etc. and "heated panel discussion," which makes it sound like some sort of Maher show, as opposed to a strictly comic one.Yes, a studio but apparently Wanda will wander outside too...
- Kevin O'Reilly, Fox E bossman, said: "She has the perfect personality for FOX, and we look forward to reinvigorating Saturday night TV with her.”
- And Wanda said: “I’m married, so this was a great excuse to get out of the house on a Saturday night. Yes, my relationship with Fox hasn’t been the best, but if Rihanna can go back to Chris Brown, I can go back to Fox. Oprah tried to talk me out of it, but I think Fox has changed.”

- Wanda's TV b'ground? Hoo boy. It's a long and detailed one, though of course Barb on "Old Christine," and "Curb," and "Wanda at Large."
- Yes, let's talk about "Wanda at Large," shall we? That's the riff of which Wanda speaks. The network launched the sitcom a few years back - in fact, six years to the day, just about - and then killed the thing almost instantly. Lasted about a month. If I know Wanda, she wasn't shy about the way the network treated her, though - of course - she had to get in a very long line of angry ex-Fox employees...
