"The Biggest Loser:" Not Tara

Before/After. (NBC)

Not Tara.

Words cannot express the disappointment.

Except maybe these words: Not right. Not fair. Not reasonable. Not good.

Not good at all.

She won this show in every way, shape and form that counted - excepting that last frivolous stipulation, "weight loss percentage," as if this show should be called "The Biggest Weight Loss Percentage."

Oh, that would be catchy. Really rolls off the tongue.

Speaking of tongues, I bit mine in the newspaper wrap, which I posted below. I couldn't say how much this stinks, and how ridiculous this outcome is. I couldn't tell readers in the short space allotted that this was someone who gave everything to pull this down and - but for five pounds - did not. The weight loss percentage accountants are sticklers. Rules must be followed.

But still, not good.

Of course, of course, of course:Congratulations to Helen Phillips. She seems like a very nice woman. She worked hard too.

But the real winner - as far as I'm concerned - is Tara Costa.

The wrap:

" In a game of inches and (of course) pounds, Bethpage native and the surest of sure bets on this season's NBC hit reality show, "The biggest Loser: Couples" didn't lose quite enough last night.

"Tara Costa, 23, who spent the last eight months of her life sweating off 135 pounds - a regular season record for a woman - needed to shed a total of 160 pounds to win the $250,000. Instead: .She lost 155 off of her original weight of 294. So winner of the seventh season is Helen Phillips of Sterling Heights, Mich., who lost 140 pounds off of her original weight of 257, meaning she had a higher weight loss percentage than Cost, while in third place was Mike Morelli, "TBL'' youngest competitor ever who started at 388 and lost 207 pounds.

"A disappointment for Costa? What else? An NYU grad and former plus-size model who’s been employed as an analyst for L'Oreal in New York, she returned from the so-called ranch weeks ago to continue her weight loss regimen which involved (among other things) endless hours on the treadmill, giving her time to develop her own Karmic brand of what goes around-comes-around: 'Sometimes,' she said in one chat with Newsday a couple months ago, 'you [have] to allow yourself to be weak because you'll become stronger in those moments of weakness.'

Time to think about friends, too: 'I know I have my friends,' she said last night. I love you all and thank you for being with me.

A couple dozen of them gathered at B.K. Sweeney's Parkside Tavern on Broadway in Bethpage, including. Lisa Buonagura. who couldn't leave work for the finale; she and a friend 'watch with her mom every week.' Another pal, Christine Frost, said, '"She's been amazing, and an inspiration to everyone.'"

And still is.

Meanwhile, Jerry Hayes, won the show's at-home prize of $100,000.

Yeah, Tara did work hard, and yes she did deserve to win. But hey, so did Mike and Helen. They worked just as hard and lost considerable weight too. Any of the three should of won. Tara won most of those competitions, but that doesn't mean that Helen worked less. She competed side by side with Tara. No, she didn't beat her in any of the competitions, but she tried her best. She's 48. More than twice Tara's age. If she was the same age, she would of been a better competitor for Tara.

I was pulling for Ron for various reasons, but when it came down to the final, I really think that Tara deserved to win. I do wish the show would change the way that it operates. I hate the voting off part. All of these people need continual support, NOT to be turned on when "they fall below the yellow line." New rules PLEASE! And continued at home support for all of the contestants.

My two pounds, I mean cents.

i was pretty upset. i was a big fan of tara. my hat was off for her every episode on the show.she is a very beautiful woman, an exelent competator, and very inspiring to me. i really thoudgt she would win the $250,000. she went so far and did so so well. i think helen looked anerexic.

Well Tara knew that going in... It's been this way for every season of the Biggest Loser.

I'm very sorry! You still look amazing. So, what you didn't win 250,00
Just think of your life span now. Helen will eat hers up in a couple of years.

Tara was actually 3rd....
Mike was 2nd according to percentage of body weight lost.

I thought Helen looked too thin and Mike and Tara looked healthier.

Hope they all can keep most of the weight off .

I was pulling for Mike, being the youngest of them all, I think he worked very hard This will also help young people in their weight. loss so we do not continue to be a nation of heavy or fat people,I should say.
Congratulations to Helen Phillips. Rules are rules and they should be followed strictly irrespective of who won many challenges during the season.

I agree! Helen does not look healthy at all. Yes she worked hard but something is not right. She went from one extreme to the other. Well at least the money will help her be able to get rid of the wave back under arms. Tara you are such an inspiration to so many people. Someone is going to snatch you up and you will be worth alot more than $250,000. It's not about the money its about your life. You are such a beautiful girl with a wonderful heart. I was so impressed that you really were a good person throughout the season. You go girl. See you again soon somewhere.

Tara is still a champion above all the other contestants of any show! What a wonderful person who never tricked anyone just outdid them all!! All the best to her.

Tara is so hot, it's a shame that she did not win. I was routing for her the whole time. As for the old lady who one, there is a rumor going around she lost an extra 8lbs right before the final weigh in by using a colon cleanser. Reporting this story was http://allfreecoloncleanse.com who actually shipped her the free trial bottle.

I wanted Tara to win.. she is so beautiful. I would have been happy with Mike, he did a great job. I thought Helen lost too much. She looked to thin to me.

Congratulations to Helen! I personally was pulling for Mike, as I think he looked very fit and was my favorite since I began watching this season. Ron, he's amazing to have finished a 26 mile marathon with a bum knee and shoulder from day one. I'm sure he rested, but 13 hours +, that's dedication! I have a hard time buying that Helen is only 117 lbs, though. She does look too thin, and I wondered if the scales were correct. I was guessing each contestant's weight before they weighed in and never missed any by more than 6 pounds. I guessd Helen to be 140 lbs. Man, did I miss that..

I'll be 48 in July, so I sincerely congratulate you, Helen for managing to pull off the win! I admired your determination.

Jerry, amazing!

Ron and Mike lost! Brown team bugged me from Day One. I can't stand Ron!

While I wish Tara would have won the big prize, the season was still a success inasmuch as the biggest scumbag ever to be on the show (that would be Ron) didn't win a ruddy dime. All his manipulations, lies, slandering, and scheming didn't help his spawn much, either.

Why is Tara so special? Mike lost more weight than Tara and Helen. He also beat Tara in percentage of weight loss. Why isn't this writer whining about Mike not winning? Mike, Helen and Tara ALL spent the last eight months sweating the pounds off. Get over it and move on!

Tara not only should have won, she would have won, IF Helen didn't go anorexic, didn't you see how boney she was? THAT my friends, does not come from hard work and the correct weight loss, not only was Helen severely underweight, but she's a whole 13 pounds lighter than me, and I'm a perfect weight and not that tall. Tara on the other hand got to the perfect weight, so she should have won. [one last note, compare her to that actress...I can't remember her name, the evil host girl, the host was probably like, "Wait a second...she's lighter than me...and I'm an actress..."]

i'm sorry guys, i just don't see it that way. the show is called "the biggest loser" not the "i am young and beautiful, lost a bunch of weight, ppl like me so i earned the top prize loser" those are the rules of the game - weight lost percentage so that ALL persons have equal oppurtunity to win. simple. if the rules change to total pounds lost instead of percentage, some persons will never have a fair chance to win and some formerly big fat 400 lb kid will always win. i am pleased with the way the biggest loser went. Mike felt entitled and tara already believed that the win was in the bag because she never fell below the yellow line. congrats to the to oldest "losers" in this season and a note to everyone else - NEVER take anything for anyone for granted. i bet tara and mike are wishing they voted helen off earlier in the season now...

This season just goes to show you that age means nothing. The 2 money prize winners were 48 (Helen) and 64 (Jerry). No one expected that. I sure didn't. But I am happy for them. Tara and Mike were winners too, when you think about it. SO WHAT if they didn't win the money? Isn't the show about getting healthy and fit? I'm glad the winners blew everyone out of the water. It's a game, people. Has been for 7 seasons. So stop whining about who should've won. Maybe if they would've voted off Helen earlier in the season, or if Tara & Mike had worked out more at home, they may have won. IF IF IF.

GO HELEN!!!!!!! You look great. I would kill for those Tina Turner legs.

I was rooting for Mike. Helen losing the most percentage should rightfully win, but I was really hoping that Mike would pull it off. He's an awesome kid, his parents have a lot to be proud of. I hope he can help his little brother. Helen was way too whiney for my tastes so I was a little disappointed to see she won, but she did, so I have to suck it up.

Tara is still the champion to me. She was so inspirational all
season long, and I hope that she's not discouraged just because
she didn't win the money. She's beautiful and has an awesome
life ahead of her. Mike is great too, and I'm glad to see he was
so successful. As for Helen, she did a great job on the ranch,
but I agree that she was too thin at the finale. And I was really
tired of everyone harping on her being 48. I'm 44, and that's not
too old to do anything, so I don't know why everyone's acting
like she's geriatric or something! Congratulations to Helen for
winning, but, Tara, you're the one that's inspiring me to get back
in shape!

All three lost over half their weight. Amazing.

My sister-i-l also thought that Helen looked 'too thin' at the final weigh in. Just an observation. The other two looked fantastic. Well, they all looked fantastic. I hope the other two get interviews and magazine spots to earn some quick cash. Any way you slice it, they all improved their lives ten fold.

Great job, Helen. Love the fact that the camera moved off Tara so quickly you couldn't even see her frozen smile thaw out when she realized she lost.

Go back to work analyzing financials!

It's hard to root against anyone on The Biggest Loser, but Helen was my least favorite to win. I think Mike did an amazing job, but there was a sweet irony in both he and his dad just missing the win in their respective categories. (In your face, Ron!) I would have like to see Tara win. She earned the win on all 12 challenges and kept pushing ahead. And she DID look healthy skinny. Helen looked OLD, not healthy. I'm 50, 5' 7" and 140 and I am skinny healthy, not emaciated. Helen will have to maintain that weight loss if she wants to come back next season a la Ally and Michelle to cheer on next season's contestant. Good luck with that!

Way to go Helen you sacrificed your daughter so u could live a fantasy what mother would do that 2 her child I mean did everybody forget that

OMG, Helen looked horrible. She looked like she has anerexia.
Someone needs to tell her that the looks like she is on deaths door.
I think it affected her brain too. She stood there waving the the
audiance like like she was at a pagent. Ally was talking to her and
she did not even know. Now she even looks older that she did on the
last show before they were all sent home. She looked great then.

Tara--- your still a "WINNER" in my eyes, you look great!! Helen looked to thin!!
Tara is such a inspiration to alot of people to start thinking about our health and watching what we eat.
Helen looks so much older and definitley to thin now.

It's great to root for a favorite, and Tara did a great job. She was a true competitor and awe inspiring but the rules of the game are known from the beginning and Helen won fair and square. If you believe it should be based on Total Weight Loss then Tara would have finished in 6th place not 3rd. Why are people so spiteful, regardless of what your personal thoughts are for any of the contestants they all deserve praise for their hard work and awesome accomplishment! I wish them all continued success!

I was so hoping that Tara would take it all. She is such an inspiration. I'm 55 but she was much more inspiring to me than the older contestants. You could just see it in her every week. She has a wonderful life ahead of her now and with her attitude and determination, she can have anything she wants. She looks fantastic. Tara, you have probably helped more people than you will ever know. Stay healthy and happy.

I think Mike should have won. He lost over 200 pounds,Helen won because of the weight percentage lost it should have been the TOTAL amount of weight lost and that would and should have been Mike sorry ladies he worked just as hard.....

Come on ppl!!!! Quit being so critical! If Helen likes being that thin, let her! It amazes me how everyone out there seems to know what everyone else should be doing with thier lives but doesn't seem to look at their own lives. Helen, you inspired me! Tara and Mike, you are insirations for young kids everywhere struggling with weight. Don't listen to anyone with negative thoughts. You did great and the money isn't the issue, it's the life you have now and in the future that the weight loss gave you. Congrats!

As a 40 year old woman I wanted to root for Helen but Tara deserved the win because Helen in essence cheated. I know it’s not in the rules that you can’t use the techniques that wrestlers and fighters use to make weight but there should be a rule against it. My husband who was a former wrestler told me that there are a lot of ways to cut or make weight and none of them are healthy. In fact if you went and weighed Helen 2 days from now you would see that she had put on at least 5 pounds in water weight because that is what she cut water not pounds. If you doubt me take a look at last nights footage. She looked like a raisin.

I am sooooooo glad that Ron's example to Mike when they conspired to get rid of Kristen in such a deceptive manner did not work for them. It was a bad example and it is a very good thing that it backfired on them in a very big way. Helen was a game play person from the beginning. She tried to be very low key about it but I could see through her. The most obvious thing that screamed to everyone how ruthless she was was when she sent her own daughter home who needed to be there more than Helen did. But Ron was not smart enough to see Helen's devious ways and he influenced his son to do the underhanded thing to Kristen while keeping the real enemy in the camp. So it backfired on both of them and I am very glad it did. I just wish Tara would have lost more weight and pulled off the big win. She played the game the way it is supposed to be played from the beginning. She is a wonderful person and a great girl. Ron, you need to set good examples for your sons and stop teaching them to be deceptive. That is waaaaay more important than setting a good example for them about nutrition and exercise. (But that is important too.)

You people have your head up your asses. Grow up and understand that the biggest loser is about changing your life. It's not about the money once it's all said and done, it's about living life. Tara and Mike are probably let down , $240,000 is a lot of money. Look at them, though, beautiful people with so much more to give to the world. Helen, she is a mother, she's maybe too thin, yes i agree with that. Her daughter could have used it more than her, absolutely. It happened the way that it happened, though. I congratulate her on achieving her weight loss.
Saying ron was a scum bag, brown team pissed you off. Who the hell are you to be saying these things? This is a god damn competition, it's not a fairy tale. This is where people work their asses off and spend hours on end in a gym to achiever their biggest goals. You people are heartless, look at what you are saying. These people are not fictional characters, they are human beings and they obviously had obsticals to overcome.
Grow up, try living in their shoes for just one day.

I wish the best of luck to every single competitor on this seasons Biggest Loser. Everyone deserved this opportunity.

No, Sarena you are terribly confused. I did not say I was mad I said I was glad that the deceiver (Ron) got deceived (by Helen). Ron reaped what he sowed, justice was done, and that is a very good thing. You do sound very angry though I must say. The money may be unimportant to you but the reality is the money is a very large motivating factor. You can bet your sweet bippy that Helen will relax now that it is all over because the money is no longer at stake. If she is smart she will achieve a more healthy weight and resume drinking water for her health.

I think Mike should have won and I'm glad Tara didn't. I just didn't like the way she played the game and there is something about her that creeps me out. Helen does look like a raisen. She needs to drink some water but if Mike couldn't win I'm glad she did. Boy, talk about losing weight....Jerry sure did but both he and his wife look older. I'm glad he won too though.

Let's see ... Tara played the game by winning tons of challenges fair and square and never falling below the yellow line. I guess some people are threatened by strong, competitive women who aren't ashamed of it.

Tara may not have won the $250,000, but I think she'll be a winner in the long run. She didn't go extreme like Helen obviously did, but she obviously worked hard and healthily.

Whoever told Kristen that sticking your head first in Clorox then in a light socket and dressing like a trailer-park prom queen was a good look did her no favors.

I think Helen, Ron and Jerry were inspirational, showing that it's never too late to change bad habits and improve your life. While Ron was a total manipulative politician, it's a game. He played the game and played it well and helped not only himself but his son gain a healthier body and life. Kristin would have no call to complain considering how fast she dumped marathon-cheater Dane.

I am really bothered by last night's win. We are going to reward Helen for losing MORE weight and what it also looked like, MORE muscle!! Tara looked healthy and muscular while Helen looked anorexic.

They need to change the criteria, include other factors or they are going to have people starving themselves to win the big cash prize.

I would like to know their body fat composition of the three finalists. I bet Tara and Mike's would be a "healthier" number.

Go to NBC and post a comment about the show and the results. They are sending the wrong message and rewarding two people for the wrong (and unhealthiest of) reasons.

I really wanted tara to win, but it was awesome to see Helen, who a lot of people weren't even thinking about winning become the next biggest loser. Tara was awesome all season long and showed that she was very competitive, but the final three were all very competitive. I just hope that she doesn't go back to her old ways cuz of the disappointment of not winning. Tara no matter what, you are a biggest loser and you look awesome.

Do second and third get any prize money?

Both Jerry and Helen don't look good. Sure they got the money but at what cost.....they could have health problems after this.

Helen worked hard and deserved it, but I didn't want her to win. Talk about empty drama. Tara was dramatic, but at least she's intelligent about it. All Helen could talk about was her "wonderful man" she had and " I want this, Ireally want this...blah,blah,blah." Why did she never mention her daughter who sacrificed herself b/c her mom "...really wanted this?" Helen just annoyed me the entire time. I just had a hard time listening to her voice...but, she won. I'm over it!

I agree with "why". Tara was in it for the drama of it all. With her everything was me, me, me, I did this and I did that. Waah, waah. I got tired of seeing her featured on the show more than most. She was smug and had a better than everyone else attitude. I was almost as glad to see her lose as I was last year when Vicki lost.

I cannot believe MIKE didn't win, and I wanted Ron to win the 100,000. I didn't really care for Jerry because I didn't get 'attached' to him since he was only on the ranch for two weeks. I think his progress is great, but Ron completed a marathon and had the will and stride to last the longest on the show. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when Helen won - she looked like she starved herself for the entire time before the finale! I could see her BONES! And honestly 117 pounds for a woman her height is REALLY skinny. It's healthy, but that weight will be extremely hard for her to maintain unless she works out 2 or 3 hours a day and stays under 1200 calories. Mike and Tara looked a hell of a lot more normal than Helen. Ugh...I guess it is all about the biggest percentage of weight loss. I'm just so bummed that Mike didn't take it. He's such a sweetheart and I wanted to see him get it more than anyone.

Hellen é anoréxica. Ficou horrível. Muito magra.

Tara é a grande ganhadora. Linda, sensual, vencedora.

Mike ainda continua gordo para mim.

Tara, você merece um futuro ao lado de alguém que te ame e te faça feliz.

I would have liked to see either Mike or Tara win.

Mike just had a lot of charm and I liked his quiet determination. Helen seems a little mentally unstable, but Tara, oh Tara.

Tara is MY champion. She inspired me week after week by having by far the greatest determination of all the contestants. No one else on the show could touch her mentally, although it seems that in the end she was finally bested physically.

Regardless, all the contestants on the show who lost a large amount of weight were inspiring to me. But Tara was the only one I looked at and thought "she's how I want to be."

Well, everyone on the show lost more weight then I ever have on a diet. My biggest problem is willpower. I admire them all for having what I struggle to dig up every day.

When I first started to watch the show I had no favorites. In fact, my least favorite was Tara, simply because she was pretty and I was jealous. But as time went by she impressed me with her sheer power of will. She changed my mind about what I thought the contest was about, i.e. getting thin= getting beautiful. She won me over when she pulled that car and beat all the men. Now I looked for emotional fortitude from the contestants. Wow, what an inspiration Tara became for me!

I'm posting her "before" and "after" picture on my fridge and putting the inscription, "What would Tara do?" on it. I hope I can find within myself the determination and balance that she has shown. Thanks for your example Tara!

Get your facts down straight, Verne. Nothing worse then wrong information coming from someone who talks factual.
Tara lost, period. It's called a game and she was one of the many contestants that lost.
TBL should be called The Biggest Cry Baby.
Call me cynical maybe, but it is what it is.
I can see emotions coming to a point of a major breakdown, but every scene someone is crying about something.
I mean, come on, do they cry that much off the fat farm?
How Ron made it to the end shows you how much bullcrap the producers want you to eat.
I like how Tara tells people what type of charator they are before she votes for them off.
Ron was the master check mate controling his son's needs before all else.
Classic.

I've watched the show since day one and always had a strong feeling about Tara. She should have won! She killed it every epidsode, beating out the guys and never giving up. Helen pretty much threw her daughter under a car and was selfish and greedy. Not to mention she looks terrible now. Mike was good too but I hated his dad Ron. Tara is still a winner though, I'm happy for all of them even though Tara should have won!

On the season finale, Jillian said it best: “The Biggest Loser is about making your dreams come true.” Tara and Mike were the embodiment of this and I, like a million other viewers, tuned in every week and were inspired. I would think of these two, then, overweight competitors in my own workouts. If they had no excuse, I had no excuse. Their words and determination made me stronger, kept me going from week to week. If they could lose weight, so could I. So could America.

This mantra does not hold true, however, for the newest Loser Helen. After she let her daughter off the show for her own self satisfaction, I crossed my fingers for her elimination. She was selfish; she did things out of spite; she was an instigator; she put herself before her daughter. (Which is exactly why Mike and Ron were such an inspiration, but I digress).

My suspicion is further raised in the fact she lost 30 pounds in 30 days. She said she hired two trainers; but, there is still no HEALTHY way that she could have dropped that weight like that. She had to have been using some sort of supplement or hard drugs.

When Jillian visited her in the show before the finale, she mentioned that she was “full of nervous energy,” chopping vegetables like a crazy lady in her kitchen. This no doubt is a sign that she could have been on stimulants.

Her image on the finale reminds me of the movie, “Requiem for a Dream,” which follows the story of a mother who dreams of wearing her favorite dress that has long been shrunk in the closet. She seeks diet pills which not only make her skinny, but put her in a drug-induced psychosis.

(google search Ellen Burstyn in said movie).

See the resemblance? She’s not pretty, she’s scary.
She is not an inspiration, she is a joke and I hope NBC investigates.

I was very disappointed at the final outcome. I really wanted Mike or Tara. I think they were amazing and they both looked fantastic.

Helen looks like she lost the rest of her weight by throwing up whatever she may have eaten. She did not look healthy.

I am 61 and that 63 year old guy who maybe earned his $100,000 looked way older than I do....I mean like 10 or 15 years older. I hope he is healthier than he looks.

I have a feeling that Tara and Mike will keep their weight off...not so sure about Helen. She is quite selfish...her daughter should have come first!! Poor girl only lost about 45 pounds. :-(

I hope next season will accept Mike's brother. He really could use the boost. (Maybe he has to be 18...a few more seasons.)

Just wanted to reply/remark on some people who mentioned Ron's actions on TBL. He played the 'game' smartly. Like Survivor, it's a game that has rules. If it WAS that the person who lost the least weight/% each week was to be voted off, then it's no strategy other than losing weight. But, it comes down to the vote, which is where the game actually begins. Sure, he said things that some take as wrong, but that's the point of the show. It's not simply lose weight, it's also a game of strategy to vote off 'enemies' or others that could be considered a threat to someone winning. Ron played the game perfectly and in the end also proved that he had what it takes to win the game - if his shoulder and knee weren't so bad. He nearly won despite these setbacks. Also, I found it quite amusing that Kristin and others would feel the need to say something like "don't take the cowards way out by voting off your biggest threat." That's why the game's rules includes the vote. When it comes down to it, I'm pretty sure she'd have done the same. I know I would have, had I been playing the game. Else, it's nothing more than a glorified, shameless view of overweight, unhealthy people in their efforts to lose weight.. kinda boring?

I have to say, I'm really annoyed at everyone harping on Helen for being "too thin" and saying she must have cheated to lose that much weight in that short of a time. Has everyone forgotten that Mike only lost by 1% of total weight loss? That means that he almost dropped the same percent of body weight in the same time! Losing more than half your weight in 6 or 8 months is insane!! The only reason why he looked "healthier" than Helen at the finals was because of his youth and the added elasticity in skin that that brings.

It seems to me that the only one who took the healthy lifestyle to heart was Tara. She wanted to win by determination, fairness, and a commitment to a better life. The others were out to win by any means possible - irregardless of their health or who they may have deceived (Mike and Ron!) along the way. Tara - you accomplished everything you set out to do and you look great! Don't focus on the $250,000 you didn't get, focus on all the wonderful prizes you won in the challenges and the great life you have ahead of you!

Everyone keeps saying "why are you trashing Helen? Rules are rules" well she's just as big of a deceiving person as Ron in my opinion from sending her own daughter home to causing Tara to lose 10 grand to manipulating the game just as much as Ron did. I mean, I just don't understand how Helen went home with the cameras, dieted, worked out, ran a marathon then comes back to the ranch and only loses 7 pounds. Then comes to the finale and miraculously loses 30... I'm no Sherlock Holmes but something doesn't add up. Next season on the biggest loser... Drug testing!!

As for the the real winner (and you all know who she is!) Tara was the best contestant in biggest loser history! Spitting in the face of everyone who wanted her off. Its dis-heartening that she didn't win the grand prize, even Mike would have been a better win, he at least has a soul and gave away his (food for a year) prize which speaks volumes about his character. Helen, hats off to you for pulling whatever you did to clinch this one... but I'm positive Jillian didn't teach you it.

The producers must change the requirements from "percentage of weight lost" to FITNESS LEVEL.

Tara looked fit. Helen looked like she's been having daily enemas for the last month.

Tara- I have never been so inspired by someone I didn't know. You
had such determination and dedication to your weight loss. Week
after week, I would watch you and wonder how could I "tap" into
that strength you found even when the odds were stacked against
you. You are AMAZING! I would watch you struggle and
sometimes cry and want to give up, and then you would just
come out on top--ALWAYS--it showed how "real" you are, and I hope
that I can reach my goals in the near future, and thank you for
being such an inspiration. You are beautiful and strong and there is
nothing that you couldn't achieve in your life.

helen looked yucky. plain and simple.
i hope she shared her money with her daughter who carried the burden of putting her mom first because helen demanded that of her...shannon deserves half of that money.

WoW - sour grapes to all of you. Let's change the rules of the game because you didn't like the outcome. WTF??? Tara was insufferable. She could dish it out but wouldn't take it when the crap came her way. She did work hard and should get credit for her hard work. Other than that, it's just a game and Helen and Mike beat her fair and square.

I think the show is inspiring and has a good message beyond the "GAME" play aspect. I am thinking a good idea for a future show might be "THE BIGGEST LOSER HALL OF FAME: What does the scale say now?" Let's see who the real winner is that lost and kept it off after the money, lights, camera, commercials, and so forth. That would be a true testiment to the ability of the BIGGEST LOSER to maintain a healthy lifestyle and weight. Bring back the winners and runners-up from each season thus far. What do you think NBC?
