"Nip/Tuck:" Not the "Greatest Show Ever"?

Will a critic please say something nice about our show? Pretty please, cherry on top? (FX)

Poor "Nip/Tuck:" FX just sent out its 2009 "for your consideration" package to critics and Academy voters, and the network couldn't find a single positive thing to say about it.

This package is something else again, and with shows like "Rescue Me," "Damages" and "The Shield," this network probably shouldn't have TOO much trouble drawing a crowd of admiring voters in the next couple weeks.

Which means "Nip/Tuck" is chopped liver. The elaborate package sent to voters includes a beautifully illustrated book of the FX murderer's row, and the authors found positive critical quotes for everything - including "It's Always Sunny in Philly."

But not a word - a single lonely word! - for "Nip/Tuck."

Gads.

So I found one for them - this from Stacey Wilson of Film.com: "Truth be told, this show, FX's most ludicrous contribution to primetime, has taken the guilty-pleasure genre and twisted it into such a succulent piece of silliness, it is hard to look away."

(You're right - I guess this quote wouldn't quite sway Emmy voters...")
